Data Loggers
Australian vaccination guidelines require continuous temperature monitoring of all vaccine refrigerators, with records kept for a minimum of three years. A data logger is the simplest way to meet this requirement — it records temperatures at set intervals (typically every 5–15 minutes) and stores the data for download or cloud upload. Both Clever Logger and LogTag models sold by DocStock meet the National Immunisation Program's cold chain monitoring requirements.
When choosing between wireless and USB models, the key difference is workflow. Clever Logger's wireless system sends data to the cloud in real time and alerts you immediately if a fridge drops below 2°C or rises above 8°C — there's no need to physically check the logger or download data. LogTag USB models store data on the device and require periodic download via a USB reader and the free LogTag Analyser software. Both approaches produce compliant records; the choice depends on whether you prefer automated monitoring or are comfortable with manual checks.
For practices running multiple fridges, the Clever Logger Starter Kit includes a gateway and one logger — additional loggers can be added to the same gateway. LogTag users needing to monitor multiple fridges can purchase individual loggers and download them all through the same reader.
