The DermLite App is a free iPhone app for dermoscopy image capture, lesion monitoring, and AI-assisted skin cancer assessment developed by DermLite in partnership with FotoFinder. Compatible with the DermLite DL5 Plus, DL5, DL4, and DL200 dermatoscopes, the app transforms your iPhone into a complete clinical dermoscopy system. Capture dermoscopic and clinical images, precisely map lesion locations, compare follow-up images side by side, and optionally access FotoFinder AIMEE AI risk scores all within a secure, Australian-hosted cloud workflow.

What devices is the app compatible with?

Is there an Android version?

The DermLite app is currently only available for Apple phones but there is an Android version in development. We don't have any ETA yet but will update this listing when we know more.

What does the app cost?

The DermLite app is free. The FotoFinder HUB has a range of subscription options including a free option

What does a FotoFinder Hub Subscription cost?

You can view the subscription costs on the FotoFinder website via the following link. We are working to get this in Australian Dollars

Why do I need a FotoFinder Hub Subscription?

FotoFinder's Hub is the Software that manages the DermLite Patient and Image data in the background. Hosted in Australia, the data you capture in the DermLite app is available online through the FotoFinder Hub and will allow you to use and access your data across more devices in the future.

Is there a free trial available?

The DermLite app is free to use and there is also a free option available in the FotoFinder Hub once you sign up that has full access to all the features however you are limited to 100MB of data or about 20 images. Once that is full, you will need to either delete some images to continue, or upgrade to a subscription.

For all the other paid packages, you can also select a 3 month free trial when you sign up to the package.

Which dermatoscopes does the app work with?

The DermLite app will work with any DermLite dermatoscope that allows a phone connection. The best image results will be achieved by using the following DermLite models - DL5 Plus, DL5, DL4, DL200.

What is the advantage of using the DL5 Plus with the app over other DermLites?

The DermLite DL5 Plus features Bluetooth which means you can connect the app to the device to control lighting remotely. It also allows you to capture multiple images (polarised, non-polarised and UV) at one touch of a button in the app. This reduces movement on the skin allowing for a better result when using the comparison feature.

Can different dermatoscopes be used with the same account?

You can use as many DermLite scopes as you wish on the same account, regardless of plan.

How are images stored and accessed?

Images taken in the DermLite App are stored within the app and online in the FotoFinder Hub. You can also download individual images from the Hub to PC for manual import to your EMR however this is currently done one at a time.

Where is the data storage located?

All patient and image data is stored in Australia when you select that location upon creating your FotoFinder Hub account.

If you previously setup an account in the past, you can move your data to Australia under "Settings - My Account - Region Information".
